Use your multisig vault anywhere: Introducing full cross-tool compatibility
Vault clients have always been able to spend their bitcoin permissionlessly by using their keys, but historically spending bitcoin with a tool besides Unchained, such as Caravan or Sparrow, was supported as a recovery option from Unchained only.
Now, full cross-compatibility is available for vaults. You can use your Unchained vault daily with any multisig tool that follows the same standards! By loading your vault's wallet configuration file into another tool, you can:
- Gain confidence that you can easily spend your bitcoin if Unchained were ever to be inaccessible
- Label your transactions for additional reporting
- Perform advanced transactions such as individual UTXO selection, CoinJoins, or RBF
Trying this out is easy! Log into your Unchained account and download your wallet configuration file from your vault dashboard.
Then, navigate to Caravanmultisig.com and select WALLET to import your vault. Caravan rebuilds your vault, and then you can spend your bitcoin using your keys. When you log back into Unchained, your Unchained vault will update to reflect your external spends.
